FINNA // For many years I’ve been traveling to the land of ice and fire. The place where there are more sheep than people and where mosquitos don’t exist. Yes, I’m talking about Iceland. The moment I set foot on the island, I was blown away. Mesmerised by the landscapes, the cold, the roughness and the incredible beauty. It keeps amazing me. The rough nature and endless summer days. They have, like a lot of Northern countries, a flawless minimalistic style. Every home, cafe and shop looks like it comes straight out of a magazine. The clean lines and the use of non colours. It's a true designers dream.

For me it feels like coming home. I’m so at ease when I’m there. Sometimes I wander if I have Viking blood running through my veins. The country keeps on calling me. I was lucky enough to travel there often and I’m definitely going back soon. Every time I discover different area’s, meet new people and befriend some locals. It keeps pulling me back, over and over again. I fell in love. I truly found my place.

The meaning of FINNA is ‘to find’ in Icelandic, ‘to discover, to meet’. I wanted to use a word that is not so common for most people, but has a lot of meaning. In a world where we lost touch with our inner self, with nature and its surroundings. We need help to find our voice again. Cause aren’t we all in search of this? The meaning of life, your purpose, love and happiness. Finding ways to live your best life. To get inspired, to share stories, to make a change for the better. It is all about finding. I can’t imagine a better name that brings it all in to one word.
